elegslab CEO Shin Sik Choi spoke with Yakup TV about the company’s vision for innovation in preclinical research and its future direction.

elegslab’s core business consists of three main areas.

First is “AI biochip automated CRO.” This preclinical solution places multiple C. elegans, a model organism widely used in biological research, into a single microfluidic chip and uses AI analysis to automate data collection.

Second is “pipeline discovery” using this platform. Choi explained, “Our automated CRO technology allows us to rapidly screen numerous candidate compounds. We currently have multiple pipelines and are discovering more across functional foods, functional cosmetics, and pharmaceuticals.”

Third is “nanoformulation CDMO” process technology, designed to maximize the performance of the discovered pipelines. With these three pillars, elegslab provides a comprehensive solution throughout the entire development cycle of new substances.

Choi also said that elegslab aims to operate as a “consultative CRO,” proactively considering customers’ development objectives and regulatory requirements, recommending optimal testing strategies, and reducing risks in advance.
